Fraud alerts inform you about an activity that is happening on your account
Alerts require action to stop fraudsters moving to the next stage within their time window of opportunity. The alerts can be triggered to send an email, text or in some cases a phone call. It depends on the service that you subscribed to which may be free or paid.
An example of a fraud alert can be when you have had a credit search on your credit file without your knowledge which indicates a fraudster maybe applying to open a financial account.
Blocking frauds means the fraudsters get stopped
Blocks can be set up in advance in many types of fraud protection. Some blocks have to be done after an alert has been received. There are password protection options to block fraudsters.
