National Trading Standards has local regional Trading Standards branches
They will deal with some cases reported to Action Fraud and through Citizens Advice Bureaus (CAB).
Trading Standards do prosecute fraudsters and run campaigns to improve consumer awareness about scams as well as collect intelligence with their investigations with:
- eCrime
- Estate Agency
- Illegal money lending
- Safety at ports & borders
- Advertising Standards
- Various complaints from consumers & businesses
Trading Standards operate The Friends Against Scams campaign which encourages people to help especially vulnerable people protect against scams. This is open to anyone wanting to join in with free online and seminar training. Click here
